Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. PLAP는 intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 유사한 alkaline phosphatase 형태 중 하나로, 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합형 isoenzyme(Regan 및 Nagao type)과 반응합니다.
PLAP는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 균일하게 발현합니다.
PLAP의 기능은 matrix mineralization으로 제안되었으나, 해당 효소가 결여된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰됩니다.
PLAP는 hypophosphatasia(고칼슘혈증과 골격 결함을 특징으로 하는 장애)와 직접적으로 관련되어 있으며, 돌연변이에 따라 발병 시기와 증상의 심각도가 달라집니다.
