The Applied Biosystems™ Human PGK1 (phosphoglycerate kinase 1) Endogenous Control (FAM™/MGB Probe, Non-Primer Limited) is designed as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples. When used with other gene expression assays, it provides consistent normalization in qPCR experiments. The probe is labeled with 6FAM™ dye–MGB, and primers are not limited, making it suitable for singleplex PCR reactions.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested and formulated into a single 20X mix. They are compatible with universal two-step RT-PCR conditions. Use with TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and cDNA samples to obtain reproducible, quantitative data on Applied Biosystems instruments such as:

• 7900HT, 7300, 7500 Real-Time PCR Systems

Each endogenous control uses 5′ nuclease chemistry. Options include:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM final) with two unlabeled primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM final) with two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Endogenous controls normalize target gene expression by correcting for cDNA loading differences. Verify uniform expression across all samples. For multiplexing, ensure the control gene is more abundantly expressed than the target.
