Target Information
The SWI-SNF complex is involved in transcription activation via nucleosome remodeling in an ATP-dependent manner. Brm (SNF2alpha) and Brg-1 (SNF2beta) are ATPase subunits of the mammalian SWI-SNF complex. Brm, Brg-1, Ini1 (SNF5), BAF155 (SRG3), and BAF170 form the functional core of the complex. Addition of Ini1, BAF155, and BAF170 enhances remodeling activity, while other subunits play regulatory roles. hSNF2L and hSNF2H are homologs of Drosophila ISWI, present in chromatin remodeling complexes other than SWI/SNF, such as NURF.
