The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene encodes an incretin hormone belonging to the glucagon superfamily. The encoded protein plays a crucial role in maintaining glucose homeostasis as it stimulates insulin secretion from pancreatic beta-cells following food ingestion and nutrient absorption. It acts through G protein-coupled receptor activation of adenylyl cyclase and other signaling pathways. It is a relatively weak inhibitor of gastric acid secretion.
