Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, brain white matter, and certain epithelial cells. It acts as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA), mediating cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration.
CD44 is involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Its expression may be upregulated in certain carcinomas, potentially linked to metastatic potential. CD44 is found in hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, epithelial tissues, and filopodia of cultured keratinocytes.
Bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells express high levels of CD44, and peripheral B/T cells can upregulate CD44 upon stimulation. The CD44 gene undergoes complex alternative splicing, generating multiple isoforms with distinct functions.
Diseases associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus, and CD44 may be related to tumor metastasis formation.
