STCH 유전자는 heat shock protein 70 패밀리에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하며, 미소체(microsome)와 연관되어 있습니다. 이 단백질군은 세포질 및 분비 단백질의 가공과 변성 또는 잘못 접힌 단백질의 제거에 관여합니다. STCH 단백질은 ATPase 도메인을 포함하며, ubiquitin-like 단백질과의 결합이 보고되었습니다.
