Target Information
Transcription factor predominantly involved in transcriptional repression. Binds to promoter/enhancer response elements containing imperfect 5′-AGGTCA-3′ repeats recognized by other nuclear hormone receptors. Plays a role in hormonal response modulation and represses transcriptional activity of several genes including LHCGR, REN, and OXT. Regulates thyroid hormone receptor activity, inhibits NFATC DNA binding, represses IL-17 expression in Th-17 cells, and contributes to immunological tolerance. Involved in forebrain circadian clock development and formation of the locus coeruleus.
