EPHA6는 ephrin receptor 하위군에 속하는 protein-tyrosine kinase로, 축삭 유도(axon guidance), 신경세포 간 상호작용, 신경계 내 구획화 및 시냅스 기능에 관여합니다. EPHA6는 뇌와 고환에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, 외부 생식기의 성장 및 폐쇄에 영향을 미치는 Hypospadias에서 발현 감소가 관찰되었습니다. 마우스에서 EPHA6 유전적 억제는 학습 및 기억 관련 행동 결함을 유발하며, 훈련 맥락의 결과에 대한 기억력이 감소하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
