Sushi-repeat-containing protein X-linked 2 (SRPX2)는 인간 뇌의 언어 및 발화 중추에서 기능하는 신경 유전자입니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 간질, 구어 실행증, 지적 장애 및 인지 장애를 유발할 수 있습니다. 최근 연구에 따르면 SRPX2는 혈관신생의 새로운 매개체로 작용하며, urokinase-type plasminogen activator의 리간드로 작용하여 내피세포의 침습적 이동을 촉진할 수 있습니다. 또한 SRPX2는 위암에서 과발현되어 focal adhesion kinase의 인산화를 증가시키고 세포 이동 및 부착을 강화시키는 것으로 알려져 있어, 전이성 암 치료의 잠재적 표적이 될 수 있습니다.
