Product Specific Information

Description:
The TS2/16 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD29 (Integrin beta 1), a ~130 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein forming heterodimers with integrin alpha subunits to create the VLA subfamily of adhesion molecules. CD29 participates in cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion and is expressed on lymphocytes and monocytes, with lower levels on granulocytes. The TS2/16 clone exhibits activating activity for beta 1 integrins.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume, with 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 645 is a tandem dye excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 645 nm. Use a 660/20 bandpass filter. Ensure compatibility with instrument configuration.

Staining Recommendations:
For panels using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Light Sensitivity:
Protect vial and stained samples from light to prevent photo-oxidation.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-Step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Clinical Relevance: Altered expression is linked to multidrug resistance in tumors and inflammatory conditions such as IBD. Two major isoforms, β1A and β1D, show tissue-specific expression patterns.
