Product Specific Information
- Recommended positive controls: EGR2-transfected 293T cells

Target Information
The EGR2 gene encodes the early growth response 2 protein, a transcription factor that binds to specific DNA regions to regulate gene expression. EGR2 is essential for the formation and maintenance of myelin, which insulates nerve cells and ensures efficient nerve impulse transmission.
Mutations in the EGR2 gene are associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1D and type 4E, as well as Dejerine-Sottas syndrome, which affect myelin formation and nerve conduction.
