Target Information
This gene belongs to the XAGE subfamily, part of the GAGE family. GAGE genes are expressed in various tumors and some fetal and reproductive tissues. XAGE1D is strongly expressed in Ewing’s sarcoma, alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, and normal testis. The encoded protein contains a nuclear localization signal and shares sequence similarity with other GAGE/PAGE proteins, classifying it as a CT (cancer-testis) antigen.
Alternative splicing and transcription start sites produce multiple transcript variants.
