Target Information
CSF1R (also known as FMS or CD115) is a tyrosine kinase transmembrane receptor involved in the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages. Ligand binding (CSF1 or IL34) activates receptor kinase activity via oligomerization and transphosphorylation.
It regulates survival, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells, particularly mononuclear phagocytes such as macrophages and monocytes.
CSF1R also promotes the release of proinflammatory chemokines and plays a key role in innate immunity and inflammatory processes.
Mutations in the CSF1R gene have been associated with a predisposition to myeloid malignancy.
