Target Information
Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I proteins are ubiquitously expressed and mediate recognition of intracellular antigens by cytotoxic T cells.
The MHC class I chain-related (MIC) proteins, including MICA, are recognized by NKG2D receptors on NK and T cells, promoting anti-tumor activity.
MICA is widely expressed on many tumor types and in most normal tissues except the nervous system, suggesting that MIC protein expression contributes to the immune system’s anti-tumor response.
