Target Information
Dapper homolog 1 (DACT1), an ortholog of Xenopus Dpr, antagonizes Wnt signaling by promoting Dvl degradation via a lysosome inhibitor-sensitive and proteasome inhibitor-insensitive mechanism.
It interacts with Dvl through the DEP (Dishevelled, Egl-10, and pleckstrin) domain and the central/C-terminal regions of DACT1.
The human DACT1 gene is located on chromosome 14q23.1.
This protein impedes CTNNB1/beta-catenin degradation, enhancing transcriptional activation of Wnt pathway target genes.
It is essential for normal notochord formation and is downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Expression is observed in human liver and various other tissues.
