ZNF598 (E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase ZNF598)는 리보솜 품질 관리(RQC) 경로에서 핵심적인 역할을 수행합니다. RQC는 번역 중 리보솜이 정지될 때 활성화되는 경로로, ZNF598은 40S 리보솜 단백질 RPS10/eS10 및 RPS3/uS3의 단일 유비퀴틴화를 매개하여 폴리(A) 서열 번역 시 리보솜의 종결을 유도합니다. 이를 통해 비정상적인 폴리펩타이드의 합성을 방지하고 분해를 유도합니다.
