OGFOD1은 2-OG-Fe(II) dioxygenase 패밀리에 속하며, 허혈 생존 및 세포 스트레스 반응에서 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질은 Prolyl 4-hydroxylase α 서브유닛을 포함하는 산화환원효소로, ATPAF1 유전자 발현에 필요한 철 결합 잔기를 포함합니다.
또한 새로운 스트레스 과립 구성요소로서 번역 조절 및 HRI 매개 eIF2α 인산화 과정에서 세포 내 프로그램된 세포사멸 조절에 관여합니다.
