Target Information
Grin3a is an NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels with reduced single-channel conductance, low calcium permeability, and low voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium.
Grin3a is mediated by glycine and may play a role in the development of dendritic spines.
It may also be involved in PPP2CB-NMDAR mediated signaling mechanisms.
Grin3a belongs to the superfamily of glutamate-regulated ion channels and functions in physiological and pathological processes in the central nervous system.
Grin3a shows greater than 90% identity to the corresponding subunit in rat.
Studies in knockout mice deficient in Grin3a suggest involvement in synaptic development by modulating NMDA receptor activity.
Diseases associated with GRIN3A include Lingual-Facial-Buccal Dyskinesia.
