Product Specific Information

  • IHC (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • For staining of formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

hCG beta is the beta chain of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a 40 kDa glycoprotein hormone produced by trophoblastic cells of the placenta beginning 10–12 days after conception.
hCG consists of alpha and beta subunits that are non-covalently associated. The alpha subunit resembles that of FSH, LH, and TSH, while the beta subunit confers biological specificity.
During early pregnancy, hCG stimulates the corpus luteum to produce progesterone, maintaining the endometrium. hCG levels rise sharply during pregnancy and are minimal in non-pregnant individuals.
Diseases associated with hCG dysfunction include gestational trophoblastic tumor and hydatidiform mole.
