Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. Cytokeratins range in molecular weight between 40–68 kDa and have an isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8.
Each human cytokeratin (numbered 1–20) shows expression patterns that reflect epithelial type and differentiation state. These patterns aid in distinguishing different epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies are valuable tools for tumor differential diagnosis using immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry. Keratin expression varies with cell type, differentiation, growth environment, and disease state, making them useful markers in cancer research and tumor diagnostics.
