Target Information
The Rhomboid family of proteins comprises several widely conserved polytopic membrane serine proteases involved in growth and development. Little is known about RHBDD2, but its overexpression in breast carcinoma correlates with poor prognosis and may contribute to cancer progression. Related proteins RHBDD1 and RHBDD3 are involved in apoptosis regulation, suggesting RHBDD2 may also modulate apoptotic activity.
