This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

Apoptosis is a key process in development and disease. Cell death signals are mediated by proteins containing death domains (DD), death effector domains (DED), and caspase recruitment domains (CARD). CARD-containing proteins include caspases, Apaf-1, CARD4, IAPs, RICK, ARC, RAIDD, BCL-10, and ASC.
CARD8 is a novel CARD-containing protein that interacts with DRAL, a p53-responsive protein involved in apoptosis induction, as well as caspase-1 and its related proteins ICEBERG and pseudo-ICE. Although studies differ on whether CARD8 acts as a pro- or anti-apoptotic protein, it is suggested to function as an adaptor molecule regulating caspase-1 and NF-κB activation.
