WD repeat domain 18 (WDR18)는 WD repeat 단백질 패밀리의 구성원으로, 세포주기 진행, 신호전달, 세포사멸, 유전자 조절 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. WD repeat는 약 40개의 아미노산으로 구성된 보존된 영역이며, 일반적으로 프로펠러 형태의 3차 구조를 형성합니다.
WDR18은 432개의 아미노산으로 이루어진 단백질로, 6개의 WD repeat를 포함하며 인간 염색체 19에 위치한 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다. WDR18은 발달 과정에서 역할을 할 것으로 추정되며, PELP1-TEX10-WDR18 복합체는 큰 리보솜 소단위체의 성숙 및 핵소체 방출에 필요합니다.
