This antibody has specificity for Human HSPB8/Cryac.
Target Information
The HSPB8 gene encodes a small heat-shock protein containing a conserved alpha-crystallin domain at the C-terminal region. Its expression is induced by estrogen in estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer cells. HSPB8 functions as a chaperone in association with Bag3, promoting macroautophagy. It is involved in regulating cell proliferation, apoptosis, and carcinogenesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with neuromuscular diseases, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
