Product Specific Information
Specificity: Recognises human CCR3, a chemokine receptor highly expressed on eosinophils, as well as Th2-T cells, basophils, platelets, mast cells, mononuclear phagocytes, airway epithelial cells, and hematopoietic progenitor cells (CD34+).
Target Information
CCR3 (C-C chemokine receptor type 3) binds to eotaxin, eotaxin-3, MCP-3, MCP-4, RANTES, and MIP-1 delta. CCR3 transduces a signal by increasing intracellular calcium ion levels and serves as an alternative co-receptor with CD4 for HIV-1 infection. Chemokines play important roles in inflammation and are critical for recruiting effector immune cells to infection sites. Chemokines activate leukocytes by binding to G protein-coupled receptors. Chemokine receptor subtypes are divided into two major groups, CXCR and CCR, based on the classes of chemokines.
