Target Information
CCR7 is a member of the G protein coupled receptor family, a subfamily of chemokine receptors. It is induced by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and mediates EBV effects on B lymphocytes. CCR7 is expressed in blood, bone marrow, lymph node, and intestine, particularly in lymphoid tissues and activated B and T lymphocytes. It controls migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues and stimulates dendritic cell maturation.
CCL19 (ECL) is a specific ligand for CCR7. ESTs have been isolated from blood, embryo, lymph node, and thymus libraries. C-C chemokine receptors such as CCR1–CCR5 and the Duffy antigen are involved in T cell chemotaxis and phagocytic cell migration to inflammation sites.
