The Porcine IFN gamma Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures IFN gamma protein and can be combined with other Simplex kits to create custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the principles of a sandwich ELISA, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously with a Luminex instrument.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids.

The Luminex beads in the ProcartaPlex assay are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures that can be identified by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Similar to a sandwich ELISA, the assay uses matched antibody pairs to identify the target protein. Each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. The Luminex instrument uses two lasers—one to distinguish bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence, which correlates with protein concentration.
This enables profiling of more targets using less sample in the same time as a standard sandwich ELISA.
