Target Information
Chemokines are small (approximately 8–14 kDa), mostly basic, structurally related molecules that regulate leukocyte trafficking through interactions with 7-transmembrane, G protein-coupled receptors. They play key roles in immune system development, homeostasis, and function, and also affect CNS and endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis or angiostasis.
Chemokines are divided into two major subfamilies, CXC and CC, based on the arrangement of the first two conserved cysteine residues. CCR10 is the receptor for CCL27, and the CCR10–CCL27 interaction is involved in T cell-mediated skin inflammation.
