The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Mammalian ribosomal proteins are encoded by multigene families that include processed pseudogenes and one functional intron-containing gene. Ribosomal Protein S20 (RPS20) is a 119 amino acid cytoplasmic protein and a component of the 40S ribosomal subunit. It is co-transcribed with the small nucleolar RNA gene U54 and functions as a primary binding protein interacting with both the 5′ and 3′ minor domains of 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA). Through these interactions, RPS20 plays a key role in nucleating the assembly of the 30S ribosomal subunit. Like most ribosomal protein-coding genes, RPS20 exists as multiple processed pseudogenes throughout the genome.
