TTYH1은 Tweety 단백질 계열에 속하는 염화 이온 채널 단백질로, 5개의 막 관통 영역을 포함합니다.
TTYH1은 Ca²⁺-비의존적이며, 세포 부피에 민감한 대전도 염화 이온 채널로 작용합니다.
주로 신경 조직에서 발현되며, 성상세포종(astrocytoma), 교종(glioma) 및 여러 암에서 발현이 증가합니다.
