Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of transcription factors and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in immune and inflammatory responses by regulating transcription of target genes, including the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells. Activation occurs via TNFα-induced phosphorylation of IKK, leading to IκB degradation and NF-kB nuclear translocation.
