Target Information
The ATL1 gene encodes a GTPase and Golgi body transmembrane protein. This protein forms a homotetramer and interacts with spastin and mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 4. It is implicated in axonal maintenance, and defects in this gene are associated with spastic paraplegia type 3. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified.
