Target Information
CD26 (dipeptidyl peptidase IV, DPP IV; adenosine deaminase binding protein) is a homodimeric serine protease belonging to the prolyl oligopeptidase family.
It is expressed on lymphocyte cells and upregulated during T-cell activation, also found on activated B cells, NK cells, and epithelial tissues.
CD26 is involved in T-cell activation, cell adhesion (fibronectin/collagen binding), and HIV infection.
Alterations in CD26 peptidase activity are associated with malignant transformation, tumor progression, and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
