Target Information
ZDHHC7 is a protein coding gene functioning as a palmitoyltransferase with broad substrate specificity. It palmitoylates JAM3, SNAP25, and DLG4/PSD95, as well as sex steroid hormone receptors including ESR1, PGR, and AR. These modifications regulate receptor targeting to the plasma membrane and facilitate rapid intracellular signaling upon hormone binding. ZDHHC7 may also play a role in FSH activation of testicular Sertoli cells.
