Ephrin B1은 Eph 수용체의 세포 표면 리간드로, 신경, 혈관 및 상피 발달 과정에서 세포 이동, 반발 및 부착에 중요한 역할을 하는 receptor tyrosine kinase 계열과 상호작용합니다. 인접 세포 간 접촉 의존적 양방향 신호 전달을 유도하며, EPHA4, EPHA3, EPHB4 등의 수용체와 결합합니다. EPHB4와 함께 심장 형성과 혈관 신생에 관여하며, 세포 부착 및 이동 조절을 통해 EFNB2 발현 세포로부터의 반발 및 분리 신호를 매개합니다. 또한 축 방향으로 투사되는 축삭의 방향을 제어하는 데 관여할 수 있습니다.
