Product Specific Information
This beta Amyloid (1-42) antibody (44-3449) is purified from rabbit serum by epitope-specific affinity chromatography.
Any reactivity towards both full-length Abeta 40 and Abeta 43 protein has been eliminated through a series of preabsorption steps.
This antibody shows no significant cross-reactivity against Abeta 40 or Abeta 43.
Target Information
Beta amyloid is a 40–43 amino acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein by gamma-secretase.
Beta Amyloid (1-40) and Beta Amyloid (1-42) are two major C-terminal variants of the amyloid beta protein, constituting the majority of amyloid beta proteins.
Both alloforms are major components of the extracellular plaques found in Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue.
