Product Specific Information
This beta Amyloid (1-40) antibody (Cat. No. 44-3489) is purified from rabbit serum by epitope-specific affinity chromatography.
Reactivity toward full-length Abeta 42 and Abeta 43 proteins has been eliminated through preabsorption steps.
This antibody shows no significant cross-reactivity with Abeta 42 or Abeta 43.
Target Information
Beta-amyloid is a 40–43 amino acid peptide derived from the amyloid precursor protein via gamma-secretase cleavage. Amyloid beta (1-40) and Amyloid beta (1-42) are the two major C-terminal variants, constituting the majority of amyloid beta proteins. Both forms are major components of extracellular plaques found in Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue.
