This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Component C2 is a serum glycoprotein functioning as part of the classical pathway of the complement system. Activated C1 cleaves C2 into C2a and C2b; C2a combines with complement factor 4b to form the C3 or C5 convertase.
Deficiency of C2 is associated with autoimmune diseases, and SNPs in this gene are linked to susceptibility to age-related macular degeneration. The gene localizes within the class III region of the MHC on chromosome 6. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
