Target Information

EF-1 (elongation factor-1) is a multi-protein complex responsible for the delivery of aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome.
The EF-1 complex consists of four subunits: EF-1α, EF-1β, EF-1δ, and EF-1γ.
EF-1β is a 225 amino acid member of the EF-1β/EF-1δ protein family and contains one GST C-terminal domain.
Both EF-1β and EF-1δ stimulate the exchange of GDP bound to EF-1α to GTP.
Phosphorylation of EF-1β affects the GDP/GTP exchange rate.
Alternative splicing of the EF-1β gene results in three transcript variants differing only in the 5′ UTR.
