For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT5 alpha is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. Upon stimulation by cytokines and growth factors, STAT proteins are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases and form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to activate transcription. STAT5 alpha mediates responses to ligands such as IL2, IL3, IL7, GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin, and various growth hormones.

Activation of STAT5 alpha, particularly in myeloma and lymphoma associated with TEL/JAK2 fusion, is independent of external stimuli and is essential for tumorigenesis. The mouse STAT5 alpha induces BCL2L1/BCL-X(L) expression, indicating an anti-apoptotic role. STAT5 alpha and STAT5 beta share 96% sequence similarity and are co-expressed in most tissues, though their mRNA accumulation differs in muscle and mammary tissues. STAT5 alpha plays critical roles in reproduction, lactation, immune function, and somatic growth.
