Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family. Liprins interact with members of the LAR family of transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatases, which are important for axon guidance and mammary gland development. Liprins act as scaffolds for recruitment and anchoring of LAR family phosphatases. This protein is closely related to PPFIA1 and its expression is downregulated by androgens in a prostate cancer cell line.
