Target Information
Human vaccinia-related kinase 1 (VRK1) is a novel kinase related to poxvirus kinase and distantly to the casein kinase 1 family. It exhibits strong autophosphorylation activity on several Ser and Thr residues. VRK1 acts as an upstream regulator of p53 and is part of a new signaling pathway.
