Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein involved in cell-cell adhesion and signaling regulation. It interacts with E-cadherin and alpha-catenin to anchor adhesion complexes to the actin cytoskeleton.
Beta-catenin also associates with adenomatous polyposis coli protein and microtubules, participating in Wnt/Wingless and other signaling pathways that influence morphogenesis.
It is expressed in hair follicle cells and epithelial tissues, with pathological roles in pilomatrixoma, medulloblastoma, colorectal and ovarian cancers, and other tumors.
In the nucleus, beta-catenin co-activates Lef/Tcf transcription factors, promoting transcription of genes such as cyclin D and c-myc, which drive cell proliferation and tumorigenesis.
