Target Information
The protein encoded by the BRWD3 gene contains a bromodomain and several WD repeats. It is believed to have chromatin-modifying functions and may play a role in transcription regulation. Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation type 93 (also known as X-linked mental retardation with macrocephaly). Additionally, BRWD3 gene translocations have been observed in patients with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
