Neuregulin 2 (NRG2)는 성장 및 분화 인자(neuregulin) 계열의 새로운 멤버로, Erbb 수용체 계열과 상호작용하여 상피세포, 신경세포, 교세포 및 기타 세포의 성장과 분화를 유도합니다.
NRG2 유전자는 12개의 엑손으로 구성되어 있으며, neuregulin 1과 유사한 유전체 구조를 가집니다. NRG1과 NRG2는 서로 다른 조직 부위에서 작용하며, 다양한 생물학적 반응을 유도합니다.
이 유전자는 Charcot-Marie-Tooth 질환 관련 영역 근처에 위치하지만, 해당 질환의 원인은 아닙니다. 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 대체 전사체가 보고되었습니다.
