Target Information
Gamma-Glutamyl hydrolase (GGH) is a homodimeric enzyme that catalyzes the cleavage of the gamma-glutamyl chain of folylpoly-gamma-glutamyl substrates. It plays a central role in folyl and antifolyl poly-gamma-glutamate metabolism. The activities of the baculovirus-expressed enzyme and the enzyme from HL-60 cells were similar on methotrexate polyglutamates. GGH is expressed in various human tumors and correlates with poor prognosis.
