STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes)는 선천면역 신호전달의 핵심 구성 요소로, NF-κB 및 IRF3 전사 경로를 활성화하여 IFN-α 및 IFN-β 발현을 유도하고 항바이러스 반응을 촉진합니다.
또한 MHC-II 복합체와의 상호작용을 통해 세포 내 바이러스 RNA 및 B형 DNA를 인식하며, ERK 경로를 통한 세포사멸 신호 전달에도 관여합니다.
STING 단백질은 주로 소포체막, 세포막, 미토콘드리아 외막에 존재하며, 대부분의 조직에서 발현됩니다.
