Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17 family (IL-17A–IL-17F), signaling through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217).
It enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts and stimulates epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
IL-17A supports proliferation and maturation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors into neutrophils and regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, increasing IL-6, COX-2, and nitric oxide production.
