Target Information
ORM1 (Alpha 1 Acid Glycoprotein) is an acute-phase plasma protein synthesized by the liver. It regulates interactions between blood and endothelial cells and, along with haptoglobin and C-reactive protein, controls cell extravasation during infection and inflammation. ORM1 is a major acute-phase reactant in humans and rats. In human plasma, ORM1 (44 kDa) is found at levels of 0.5–1.4 mg/mL, increasing during acute inflammation such as trauma, malignancy, myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections, surgery, or chronic pain. It is useful for studying inflammatory conditions.
