Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the transmembrane 4 superfamily (tetraspanin family). These are cell-surface proteins characterized by four hydrophobic domains, mediating signal transduction events involved in cell development, activation, growth, and motility. The encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein, highly similar to transmembrane 4 superfamily member 2. Alternate polyadenylation sites have been identified for this gene.
